A word from our CEO:

The Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenge for many of us and I continue to be impressed by the way our customers, partners and teams are navigating through this ordeal. Hopefully the peak of the pandemic is now behind us and I’m happy to say that our office in Oslo is open and our offices in Stockholm and Umeå are opening up as from October 1. Nonetheless, our focus will stay on protecting the health and safety of our employees, while ensuring that we continue to safely supply and serve our customers. These priorities will remain, and demand our ongoing attention, as we are now adapting to the “new normal”.

Looking back over the last few months, new and exciting developments have been taking place in our home markets. In Sweden, Lumera entered an agreement with Skandia to deliver application support for a large part of Skandia’s policy administration. Over several years, Skandia has successfully applied Lumera’s platform for its fund trading management.
This new agreement entails a more comprehensive commitment through a multi-year implementation project, where a large share of Skandia’s proprietary applications for its life insurance and pensions operations will be migrated to Lumera’s core platform. This is one of the largest investments Skandia has made in many years and we’re honored to gain Skandia’s trust for supporting their modernization initiative.

In Norway, the recently implemented EPK reform has raised the bar by requiring an all-digital customer dialogue and fully automated information flows between industry parties. I’m pleased that Lumera acted early to meet the anticipated demand for updated technology from the Norwegian pensions market, by developing a connector to the EPK hub. This enables our customers to administrate EPK pension policies and to realize business opportunities created by the reform.

As we announced the Lumera brand the past spring, we also declared our mission to support safe, yet fast and efficient transformation for Life and Pensions providers. This model for digital transformation is what we call the Prudent Revolution. To discover it further, and to understand your own transformation journey, I invite you to study our guidebook for the Prudent Revolution in Life and Pensions, now available for download.

Sustainable development is another key commitment by Lumera. We believe a sustainable mindset helps us make the right decisions for our customers, employees, suppliers and other stakeholders. To improve consistency and comparability in sustainability reporting, we welcome greater transparency in sustainability initiatives. This will be relevant both for investors and a broader audience in a context where society is calling to action on climate change.
Last, but not least, check out our latest Pulse survey focusing on P27 to find out how this Nordic initiative, with a future-proof infrastructure for payments in the region, will impact the Nordic insurance industry.

As for now, I welcome you back to our offices, whether it be for work, meetings or for having a “fika”. Take care and see you soon!

Mats Lillienberg, CEO, Lumera
